The School Band was first class, and along with Netteswell Youth Band, kept me out of trouble.
I completed a B.Sc. Physics with Musical Acoustics at University of Surrey, Guildford before joining the BBC.
I lived in Saffron Walden and Hoddesdon before moving to Manchester in 1984.
